I often refer to myself as a professional "time-filler", meaning I am almost never anything but busy! I think a busy lifestyle is something I have always handled well, and when I am not busy, I find myself wondering what new project I can start working on next!
Now don't get me wrong, a day off here and there is definitely a must, but I can honestly say that some of the craziest times in my life have been the most productive. For example, when in high school, the fall season was crazy for me because I was playing soccer and running cross country in the same season. This meant that I had two soccer practices, two soccer games, and two cross country meets EVERY week! I don't know how I did it at the time, but it payed off in the end!
Now I will skip forward to college. While at Weber State University, I was a full-time student-athlete, worked evenings at the local indoor skydiving tunnel, and was involved in at least 24 hours a week for Radiology clinicals! To go into more detail, a typical day in the undergraduate life of Taylor looked something like this:
4:30am- 30min run (double)
6:00am- 2:30pm- Radiology Clinicals
3:00pm-5pm- Track/cross country practices
6pm-10pm- Working at iFly Utah
10pm-Study and go to bed
Looking back on THAT, I am not sure how I managed, but I did! It was a very crazy time, but I was able to accomplish quite a lot as well. Not only that, but I also began dating Kurt during this hectic time in my life and I truly believe that was a sign we were meant for each other.
If you are truly passionate about something, you find ways to make it happen, regardless of the circumstances.
This is a motto I love and strive to live by. I continued my crazy hectic life while in Auburn when I was working on my Master's Degree, working at three different facilities as a CT/MRI Technologist, conducting research at Auburn University, and training full-time as a professional distance runner. Sometimes I felt crazy, but hey it's just who I am! I am a professional time-filler! (And I must add, that when my resume says I have excellent time-management skills, it is quite the understatement...)
I now am working as an Instructor of Radiologic Sciences at Weber State University which is very busy but immensely rewarding, and training full time as a professional distance runner. I love being busy and productive, and I LOVE my life! I know I may be a little crazy, but I just want to say that if you have a goal or something you want to do but think you don't have time, think again! Time isn't given, time is MADE. You will be surprised at what you can accomplish if you fully commit and make it happen! Follow your dreams, pursue your passions, and live the life that makes you happy!
